about

Another one of the songs Paul Levinson, Stu Nitekman, and Ira Margolis recorded when Ellie Greenwich and Mike Rashkow (see bonus) brought the trio into a studio to get down a few demos, after discovering them singing in Central Park in NYC a few weeks earlier in April 1968, and signed them to their production outfit, Pineywood Productions. (The track is not quite complete -- there was a little glitch at the end of the recording -- but most of it is there.)

lyrics

Yesterday's Rain (lyrics by Paul Levinson, 1967)

Girl don't you cry about yesterday's rain
I can give you sunshine today
Look for love and you'll find it again
Just let me show you the way

Girl don't you hide cause of yesterday's rain
I can chase the clouds from the sky
Come on outside and forget all your pain
I'll be waiting for you to come by

(bridge)
Oh, I know how much he hurt you
But can't you see I'm not him
Girl I would never desert you
So don't be afraid to give in

Now girl don't you run from yesterday's rain
Your tears are a part of the past
Just think of all the joy to be gained
by falling in love that will last

Girl don't you cry about yesterday's rain...
